I'd asked bunruh once about where all the modern day parables were. In the Biblical sense - the short, poingnant story designed to be easily understandable for someone in the culture of the time, which teaches a spiritual lesson of some sort.
I'm still looking for a book or a website that does that. But it's been suggested that movies (and other entertainment media) fill that void for our current culture. Probably true. But I wish someone would compile a bunch of short ones.
Anyway, the LP roported on a show at the U of R called The Good Person of Szechwan, and called it a "modern parable". If anyone goes to see it, tell me about it.
